Seasonal Events

Portrait Painting Class

Turn a favorite photo into a one-of-a-kind pottery piece. In this class, you’ll learn how to trace and transfer an image onto pottery and paint it yourself. Students are welcome to use a photo of a pet, child, family member, wedding moment, or even a home to turn into a personalized keepsake.

This class is beginner-friendly—no drawing skills required. Our instructors will guide you step-by-step through the process of transferring your image and painting your design onto a 6" tile, making it approachable for painters of all experience levels.

For best results, we recommend choosing simple photos with clear subjects— 1-2 people, pets, or the front of a home tend to work best. Photos with large groups or very detailed backgrounds can be more difficult to transfer.

Everything you need to make a painted portrait will be provided:

  • one 6” tile & array of paint colors

  • printed photo of your choosing

  • hands on instruction in photo transfers

  • underglaze paint techniques

  • hand-lettering details & support

PLEASE NOTE: Following your booking, please select and send your photo of choice to info@bisquebythevessel.org so our staff can prepare and print your photo for class!

Personalized Plaque event

Create a meaningful keepsake just in time for Easter. During our Personalized Plaques Event, guests will paint a plaque of their choosing and we’ll add custom personalization with a name and/or date after the event. These pieces make thoughtful Easter gifts, memorial keepsakes, or family heirlooms to display year after year.

This event is beginner-friendly and open-house style—come anytime during our open hours and our staff will be there to help guide you through the painting process. You’ll have access to our full selection of paints to design your plaque however you like before we add the final personalized details.

To guarantee your piece is available on event day, we encourage guests to pre-order their plaque ahead of time. A limited number of plaques will also be available for walk-ins on a first come, first served basis while supplies last.

Everything you need to create your personalized plaque will be provided:

  • one plaque of your choosing

  • access to our full selection of paint colors

  • staff guidance and support while painting

  • custom personalization

To make the day even sweeter, Greenwyche Goods, a local micro-bakery, will be joining us with homemade sourdough treats available for purchase to enjoy while you paint.

PLEASE NOTE: If planning to gift a finished product, pottery must be painted on March 28th to guarantee pick up by Easter.

Let’s Work Together —

Bisque was created as a space for making—but also for supporting the people and organizations that make our community vibrant.

We believe creativity is better when it’s shared, and we love partnering with those who want to bring people together through meaningful, hands-on experiences.

  • creative collabs

We partner with local businesses, makers, and brands to host workshops, pop-ups, and collaborative events that bring our community together. From plant shops and florists to bakers, jewelers, and beyond, we love creating experiences that feel thoughtful, interactive, and memorable.

Our studio offers a welcoming, low-pressure space to share what you do and connect with new audiences in a meaningful way.

Have an idea? Let’s build something together.

  • host a workshop

We love opening our doors to artists and makers who need a space to teach their craft. Whether you’re leading a painting class, hosting a hands-on workshop, or sharing a new skill, our studio is a welcoming, creative-friendly space designed for real making — yes, even the messy kind.

If you’ve been looking for a venue that understands art supplies (and doesn’t panic at the sight of paint), we’d love to host you.
